Apocalypto is a visually stunning and intense film that offers a gripping portrayal of the decline of the Mayan civilization. The film's use of indigenous languages and its focus on the culture and traditions of the Mayan people adds authenticity to the story. However, some critics have raised concerns about the historical accuracy and portrayal of violence in the film. The decision to teach or study depends on your interests, skills, and long-term goals. If you have a passion for sharing knowledge, helping others learn, and making a positive impact on students' lives, then teaching may be a fulfilling career choice for you. On the other hand, if you have a strong desire to deepen your own understanding of a particular subject or field, pursuing further studies may be the best option. Consider your strengths, career aspirations, and personal values to make an informed decision about whether to teach or study. **

Mel C likely chose the simple past tense in this lyric to express a sense of ongoing frustration and disappointment. By using the simple past, she conveys that the world has been consistently darker than she can understand and that nothing has been going as she planned for an extended period of time. This tense choice helps to emphasize the enduring nature of her struggles and the impact they have had on her. **
